Our treatment philosophy at Hillsview Massage and Therapy Centre is to educate our clientele, provide excellent massage therapy treatments and empower our clients to become active participants in the treatment and rehabilitation process. Our therapists are friendly professionals interested in building therapeutic relationships. Each therapist has been trained and educated by an accredited massage therapy institution, offering diverse backgrounds and skill sets that compliment one another. This creates a team atmosphere and integrated treatment approach to offer our clients the best resolution to soft tissue dysfunction, pain, health and well-being.

Elena Papadopoulos RMT

Elena graduated from Centennial College Massage Therapy program in 2018 and is a member in good standing of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She has also completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Science, Specialized Honours BA, at York University in 2015.

She has worked with clients from all stages of life from infancy to elderly while treating a variety of conditions. Previous experience ranges from those with head injuries, varsity athletes, to fibromyalgia clients. By working with clients to achieve their lifestyle goals, whether it’s to reduce daily stresses or to return back to sport, Elena is able to provide tailored treatments to help clients achieve them.

Helena Shtark RMT

Helena has joined to our team of RMTs at Hillsview Massage and Therapy Centre in 2018. She graduated from the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy in 2017 and is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Helena is also a current member of RMTAO.

Helena has more than 16 years experience providing excellent direct client care as a dental-surgical assistant level 2. She graduated from George Brown College in 2004 and complements her RMT career by working in both healthcare capacities. Helena is dedicated to her clients health and well-being. In her treatments, Helena incorporates Swedish and advanced massage techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, joint play, remedial exercise, and hydrotherapy to treat common joint and tissue dysfunction, to help alleviate pain, reduce stress and promote well-being. Helena also has extra training in TMJ dysfunction treatment and modern cupping therapy.

Stephanie Valente RMT

Stephanie joined our team of RMTs at Hillsview Massage and Therapy Centre in the spring of 2014. She is a certified Registered Massage Therapist and is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). She graduated from Humber College with a diploma in Massage Therapy. Stephanie has experience in a variety of settings, that include, working in an athletic capacity specializing in sports massage and active release. She participated in the varsity athletic program, playing on Humber’s women’s rugby team for 3 years. She believes that her personal experience knowing and understanding injury associated pain helps her better relate to the issues and pain and dysfunction of her clientele.  Stephanie has also treated a diverse group of people, with a wide range of ages and impairments, and is comfortable treating all clientele. Stephanie is a strong advocate for her clients well-being and promotes a better quality of life.

 

Judy Xinyu Chen Doctor TCM, RMT

Judy has been with our team at Hillsview Massage and Therapy Centre since 2011 and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.  She is a recent graduate of Wellspring College and received her qualifications as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2010. She graduated from Heilongjiang University in 1996 as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prior to becoming registered, Judy had accumulated over 10 years hands on massage experience with Tuina (Chinese massage) and acupuncture to treat patients suffering from chronic pain, while working as a traditional Chinese medicine doctor. Judy now incorporates Swedish massage, advanced massage techniques, e.g., frictions, trigger point release, joint play and remedial exercise, to treat common joint dysfunction and sports related injuries to promote well-being. She enjoys working with pre and postpartum women, children, and athletes and provides massage therapy and relaxation techniques to the general public. Judy is an energetic and joyful massage therapist that takes pride in her work.

Greg Brown H.B.Kin., B.ED.,  RMT

Greg graduated from Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic and has been licensed since 1997. Greg has an honours degree in Kinesiology and specializes in treatment of everyday aches and pains and sports related injuries. He works to empower his clients to be active partners in their rehabilitation plan. Some of Greg’s experience includes working with athletes from a variety of sports including: football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, hockey, soccer and marathon; including two individuals who have run The Boston Marathon and one of those that completed the Ironman. He spent over a year teaching Massage Therapy and Anatomy at Kikkawa College and currently works as a Principal for York Region District School Board. Greg also spends considerable time doing Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release for individuals to help alleviate pain and dysfunction related to poor posture, improper ergonomics and everyday living. Greg has been with Hillsview Massage since 1998 and became the owner in 2009 and writes a blog on this site to help individuals take charge of their health.

Dawn Clarke RMT

Dawn studied massage therapy at Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and has been registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario since 1994. She brings a wide range of experience from her years of practice including pre and post natal, motor vehicle rehabilitation, post surgery rehab, every day injuries and general relaxation. She believes in focusing on general wellness and self care and that the greatest promoter of recovery is taking responsibility for your own wellness. She also has previous education in aromatherapy, reflexology, myofascial release, and has attended multiple births providing labour support (Doula). Her medical knowledge is further enhanced by education and practice as a part-time medical office manager to a high risk obstetrician. She continues to expand her massage therapy knowledge with ongoing education.

Tristan J Bae RMT

Tristan graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and has been licensed since 2007. Previously, over a five year period, Tristan studied traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture at Tianjin Chinese Medicine School. He utilizes the complimentary relationship between disciplines which allows Tristan to incorporate a more balanced and holistic approach to his treatments. Highlights of his experience include working in physiotherapy and chiropractic multidisciplinary settings along with Toronto Rehabilitation & St. Joseph’s Hospital clinics. Tristan draws on his prior knowledge and experience offering a treatment focus that includes deep tissue work, joint play & soft tissue release.

Diana Chao RMT

Diana graduated with honours standing from ICT Kikkawa College in 2008. She specializes in sports injury rehabilitation, stress reduction, and treatment of postural dysfunction related to occupational stress and incorrect workplace ergonomics. Diana uses a combination of deep tissue massage, myofascial release, stretch and strengthening exercises and trigger point therapy to help encourage muscles to relax and to harness the body’s natural healing abilities. She has a passion for anatomy and athletics, and is a true advocate of healthy living to all her clients.

Winnie Lam RMT

Winnie graduated from Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy and has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2008. She is bilingual and speaks both English and Cantonese fluently. Winnie’s massage experience includes working with pre and post operative patients at St. Josephs Health Centre and Women’s College Hospital in Toronto. Her continuing education credentials include: Prenatal Massage and Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques. Winnie incorporates a variety of techniques in her treatments that include: Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy. Winnie is a fundamental believer in including remedial exercise programs as part of her treatment to help clients regain, maintain, and develop greater flexibility, strength and stability.
